HISTORY

At the end of the first edition of the River Jump in the 2006 we looked at each other and we understood that this was a really special event: original and funny, so consequently it was voted by the riders as best event in Italy. Roughly 4000 people turned out to see the amazing level of riding and enjoyed the atmosphere.

The winners of the first edition were:

  • 1. Mario Kappelli
  • 2. Wyatt Caldwell
  • 3. Matias Radaelli

Every year we want like to progress, so in 2007 we had a 4 star event. The goal was to improve the event with a different format so that the riders could really express themselves and win big money. We were upgrading, features, prize money and it was a great show for all who attended. It was an invitational event plus a qualifying slopestyle in the Mottolino snowpark so all the riders could have the chance to ride at the night show.

The winners of the second edition were:

  • 1. Yale Cousino
  • 2. Ville Uotila
  • 3. Sami Saarenpaa

Due to the financial crisis in Italy, we had to stop the event for one year during 2008, but we came back stronger than 2009.

In 2009 we had the 3rd edition.

Twenty among the best national and international freestyler were called to give proof of their ability in an exciting challenge with the champions selected at the Mottolino Snowpark; the final of the contest was the jump of the Spoel river “by night” and the award of the 20.000 euro amazing jackpot.

The winners of the third edition were:

  • 1. Chris Soerman
  • 2. Mark Sollors
  • 3. Christian Hallers

This year the Burn River Jump is entered among the highlights of the Swatch TTR _Ticket To Ride_. Not only that, thanks to continuous efforts to bring this event to an ever higher in terms of riding and entertainment, has conquered 5 stars in this important circuit races ranking, in both competitions planned.

From the 24Th to the 26Th of February, the best Italian and international athletes will flood Livigno and the Mottolino Snowpark, in order to get a slice of the rich prize of USD 50,000 and collect points valid for the Swatch TTR rankings.

Confirmed the race format, that will not fail as in past editions to celebrate the snowboard at its most extraordinary and unusual side, leaving the audience open-mouthed.
